In all likelihood and regardless of who will be the next Inter coach (it’s going to be Conte), Nicolo Barella will be the first Inter signing this summer. Giuseppe Marotta has had several meetings with Cagliari president, Tommaso Giulini, over the last couple of months and it seems that Inter CEO’s hard work is paying off.
According to Calciomercato, both sides are ready to define this operation that will give Conte an important reinforcement in the midfield. The Italian coach values Barella’s qualities greatly, perfect for the way Conte envisions how he wants his Inter of the future to play. Giulini, aware that the player is ready for the big jump in his career and thanks to the excellent relationship between the two clubs, has agreed to allow Inter to include players in negotiation for Barella whose cost is €50M.
So who are the candidates? First is Andrea Pinamonti. The Italian is having a good season at Frosinone and could be included in negotiation together with Andrew Gravillon, Pescara defender (Inter exercised buy-back option on him earlier this year). Both teams are still defining this aspect of the deal.
But all in all, Barella is ready to wear the Inter shirt, the first signing of the new era under Antonio Conte.
