As we are waiting for Mauro Icardi and that contract negotiation, Inter executives have reopened talk with Skriniar and his representatives for a contract renewal that seemed impossible just a few weeks ago.
After a meeting that took place recently between sporting director Piero Ausilio and agent of the Slovakian defender, Karol Csonto, the gap has significantly been reduced. Inter have increased their offer from €2.5M from last September including bonuses to €3M plus bonuses: almost twice as much as he is making right now which is €1.7M.
This decisive move is really appreciated by the defender who went to war with the media in his country about this contract negotiation. Inter are very optimistic and strongly believe that Skriniar will soon say yes. A new meeting will probably take place immediately after the end of the January transfer window to bridge the gap even further for a new contract that will last until 2023.
