The hunt to sign Romelu Lukaku has begun because it is the Belgian the first choice to lead the Nerazzurri attack next season. According to FCIN, Inter have initiated first contact with his new agent Federico Pastorello after the blessing of Conte who wanted him at Chelsea. During the two meetings with Marotta, the former Italian national team coach made it clear that Lukaku is at the top of his wishlist for summer transfer window.
Manchester United are open to sell the Belgian national but the demand is high: between €70M and €80M. The same figure, incidentally, is requested by Inter to Juventus for Mauro Icardi. Meaning, it could really be the Argentinian number 9 to finance Suning’s move to sign Lukaku who earns €10M net per season until 2022. Inter are ready to put on the table five-year deal worth €7.5M plus bonuses. The longer duration would allow the player to earn more than what he would have under the current contract in England over the next three years. Giving the player €7.5M a year would not raise Inter’s wage bill too much and Suning will try to obtain more advantageous conditions when it comes to the transfer fee compared to the initial request.
In short, there are conditions to make Conte really happy and the player himself has the desire for a new experience and playing in Italy is one of his preferences.
