It is clear that if (or when) Icardi does leave, he must be replaced. Beyond the complicated hypothesis that is an exchange with Juventus for Dybala, Marotta and Ausilio will inevitably have to buy another striker, given the numerous commitments that Inter will face. The favorite remains Duvan Zapata due to his age, potential and knowledge of the Italian league. The Colombian striker of Atalanta is a modern, physically strong player, a sort of Lukaku clone, a striker that Inter like a lot. But he will also cost a lot. Atalanta will not just gift him to Inter but the relationship between Zhang and Percassi is excellent and this could help the negotiation.
Let’s not forget about Dzeko. Unlike Zapata, the Bosnian is 33 years old and would cost no more than €10M-€12M. Inter wouldn’t expect him to play all the games but he would be a nice help in the Champions League thanks to his 22 goals in 57 games in that competition.
