Not one but two.
We are talking about new strikers that Inter are planning to sign for next season. The idea is this: one will come and that arrival is not related to Icardi’s potential departure. And it will probably be Edin Dzeko.
Roma and Inter will see each other at the end of the season to define their objectives. Because the roads ahead are pretty straight forward and they lead to a positive conclusion of this operation. Inter already have the yes from Dzeko in their pocket as he has an expiring contract in 2020 and both sides are never close to a renewal.
But Dzeko will not be Icardi’s replacement. If the Argentinian were to leave Inter, another striker would arrive to complete an attacking unit which will also include Lautaro Martinez. Much will depend on the coach’s thoughts, ideas and reasoning for next season. If it is Conte on the bench (everything leads to this solution), then it will be interesting to see if the Italian coach will want to continue using the 3-5-2 formation.
Defensively, Inter will still have Skriniar in their future as he has officially renewed until 2023 worth €3M net, without the promise of making him captain in the future. “I am very happy. We want to shorten the gap with Juventus but let’s think about winning a Champions League spot first,” the Slovakian said.
Skriniar will perhaps find Lukaku in Milan as a teammate. Compared to Icardi’s value, that of Lukaku is lower: for a figure between €50M and €60M, the Belgian could leave the Premier League. Inter have started to work on this operation through agent Pastorello, knowing that Lukaku is fully available to try a new experience in the Italian league.
