The very positive impact of Gabriel Barbosa with the shirt of Flamengo has excited the overall environment of the Red and Black club. The 23-year-old striker is still owned by Inter and is on loan to the Rossoneri until December 31st 2019 after excellent loan spell at Santos.
According to Esporte 24 Horas, there is the desire to make an offer to Inter to get half of the player’s rights. In concrete terms, after the first offer of €8M rejected by the Nerazzurri, a second one of €10M also arrived but it met the same unhappy ending: another rejection by the club of Suning.
But why only 50% of the player? Because the idea of Flamengo is to buy only the federative rights of Barbosa which would allow the club to decide exclusively on a possible sale and his value in the future, thus avoiding the risk of Brazilian striker moving to a rival such as Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Palmeiras etc… All these clubs are able to invest the money to acquire Barbosa entirely.
Meanwhile, Inter have reiterated to Junior Pedroso, agent, that the desire is to definitively sell the player. The biggest obstacle for Flamengo ambition is that Inter want to send Barbosa to a European club or one in Asia.
