“Regrets? Nothing. Football has given me so much and I am proud for what I achieved even if then I realized that a footballer does not live a real life. I still played for many top clubs, with great champions and I also played for the national team. And despite the 9 goals scored in the qualification, I did not go to the World Cup in 2010 for reasons that that maybe not even Prandelli, the coach then, could explain.”
That was Pablo Osvaldo, former footballer at Roma and Inter and current musician, saying that he does not have too much nostalgia for football, a world that he always felt like a fish out of water.
He then talked about the scuffle with Mauro Icardi on the pitch at the Juventus stadium.
“Would I do it again? It is too easy to say no now. Had it not been for Guarin, I would have punched Mauro Icardi for the the world to see. At that moment, he (Guarin) was there. Then Mancini was forced to ask for my transfer, otherwise he would lose control of the group.”
