“Keeping him is a dream for us but I have to be honest… I don’t know if it can be done. There are two big Italian clubs that want him.”
This is the admission of Marcello Carli, sporting director of Cagliari to the microphones of Gianluca Di Marzio on the future of Nicolo Barella, scouted and wanted by Inter for several months.
“We will see. Last year we refused many offers for him like that of Atletico Madrid in the summer. Today, however, I don’t know if he is staying or not. There is no certainty of keeping Barella and we didn’t really consider any hypothesis last January. Of course, if he were to leave, we would have to replace him. Nicolo is a serious person who still plays at Cagliari and so he must only think of finishing the season the best way possible.”
