Agustin Almendra, 2000-born midfielder of Boca Juniors, is at the center of a duel between Inter and Napoli. But the president of Boca, Daniel Angelici, seems to lean towards the Nerazzurri proposal.
“Almendra’s situation is different from that of Balerdi because Almendra just renewed with us and has a €30M release clause. We will wait for him to rejoin the group after the South American tournament. Instead of selling players, we just need to re-discover those who have not had a good period. Almendra is young as he will only turn 19 years old.
“Inter have let us know in their offer that they are willing to leave him here at Boca for two years, we can proceed forward and talk about it under this condition. To Napoli, however, we have already said that we do not want to sell him. I talked to Napoli director and told him what our conditions were that we have no intention of selling him now. But certainly I did not forbid them to make an offer.”
