“The superintendent is verifying that there are no contrasts on the San Siro and as of today, I am not aware of any results. I will reiterate my position: I would prefer that we work on the current San Siro stadium.”
Giuseppe Sala, Milan mayor, once again expresses his desire to see the two teams working together on a plan to renovate the current building, instead of demolishing it to build a brand new, modern stadium.
“If the two teams, for having the fear of playing on a construction site while the season is in progress, prefer a different project, they know what limits we can grant them in terms of construction. It is clear to them that a building without further development is hardly sustainable. I am not in a hurry but I would like for them to come to us with a clear proposal. In one way or another, this would be a good thing for the city of Milan.
“I have to think about this situation as the mayor of this city rather than a fan. I am fond of the San Siro but as a mayor, I must say that it is a matter of respecting the rules, so let’s see what happens.”
