“I don’t like VAR.”

Tarcisio Burgnich, legendary Inter defender, expresses his judgment on the refereeing technology the day after the disastrous decision by Rosario Abisso to give a non-existent penalty to Fiorentina at the end of the game.

“In sports, there are mistakes. A goalkeeper can make mistakes, same with a striker and referees can also make them. Sports are made of human errors and I do not like machineries.”

He continues, “Inter have excellent players, some even are stronger than that of Juve but results are always mixed. I think it depends on the strength of the club: I do not know whom we can count on, I do hope that Marotta puts things right.”

Burgnich also spends some time talking about the hottest topic of the last couple of weeks and that is Mauro Icardi.

“At the foundation of everything, the dressing room counts the most. It is what makes you win games. In my days, it was always like that. I hope the matter is resolved but he must be more humble.”
