Tuttosport confirms the story posted yesterday by FCIN about how Inter are hitting the gas when it comes to Nicolo Barella.
“The obstacle remains Cagliari’s high demand of between €45M-€50M, the figure that Inter have no intention of paying. It is practically impossible for Inter management, Champions League or not, to put that sum of money on the table without trying everything they can to lower it, probably by including counterparts in the deal. The Rossoblu president (Giulini) has not opened up to this possibility but Inter are convinced that they can set up the same negotiation that brought them Milan Skriniar in the summer of 2017.”
But that’s not all. At least another midfielder is needed for Inter to make that jump in quality.
“Besides the names that Inter are already monitoring such as Rakitic, Gundogan and Milinkovic-Savic, Marotta and Ausilio are hoping to bring back home Mateo Kovacic on loan. The midfielder will leave Chelsea to return to Real Madrid but Zidane will not welcome him back to the squad. The Croatian has contract until 2021 and he should extend it for one more season. And at that point, he could arrive at Inter on loan with option to buy for a not too crazy figure.”
