Flamengo and Inter negotiation is ready to take shape to acquire Gabriel Barbosa outright, with a valuation of around €22M. Inter are carefully evaluating this operation because 18 year-old starlet Lincoln could also be included in this deal.
That’s not all. In the dialogue that just started, there is Miranda as well because the Brazilian defender is destined to return home to close out his career. The acceleration of the last few days is due to the appointment of Rodolfo Landim to the presidency of Flamengo for the next three years. The entrepreneur replaces Eduardo Bandeira de Mello who had led the club in the last two terms. Together with Landim, there are ambitious investors who are aiming for important milestones. And the signings of Gabriel Barbosa and Miranda will go towards this direction.
That being said, Inter have different need. One thing is to sell the striker to ease the budget, the other is to let go of a defender that Spalletti keeps using continuously. In fact, it would not be easy to replace Miranda. And so, Marotta and Ausilio are driving negotiation towards two-phase solution: sell Gabriel Barbosa already in January and postpone the departure of Miranda, which will allow Flamengo to hang on to Lincoln for a bit longer. The Brazilian club would accept this solution also because they recently sent Paqueta to Milan. And so, dialogue proceeds.
