After 20 league games, Inter are in third place, embellished by victories against Milan and Napoli, and are wroth a significant bonus. The Nerazzurri – highlighted by Calcio&Finanza – thanks to the sponsorship of Suning, will receive about €4.6M for their performances of the first half of the season in Serie A.
On December 20 of 2016, Inter signed an agreement on naming rights and sponsorships with Jiangsu Suning Sport Industry Co. Ltd, or Suning, for a total of €66M for 4 seasons, with an average of €16.5M per year.
In addition, in the first year of contract (2016-17), Inter collected a signing bonus of €25M, for a total of just over €40M. During 2017-2018, sponsorship had a total value of €27.6M, thanks to around €11M in bonuses.
The contract provides numerous bonuses for the performance of Icardi and teammates, particularly the €3.5M that was triggered by Champions League participation. Not only that: in that contract, there are also prizes for individual victories against big clubs in Serie A. A win against Juventus, Napoli, Roma and Milan is worth €550K which is why there are a further €1.1M in cash, bringing the total to €4.6M.
The most substantial bonus is related to the final result in standings: in case of third sport at the end of the year, Inter will receive €3.5M, €8M for second and €10M in case of a Scudetto. In addition, the focus is also for the Primavera team: each official competition won by the boys is worth €500K, starting from the Italian Super Cup against Torino on Wednesday February 20th.
Among other sponsors, another Champions League qualification would bring in €250K from Bwin and Volvo.
