The Gazzetta dello Sport analyzes the Champions League race and sees the Black and Blue teams of Inter and Atalanta as favorites to land the final two spots.
“Thanks to Roma, or better yet, thanks to Genoa. The 1-1 draw at the Marassi allows Inter to breath a sign of relief after the 0-0 draw in Udine last Saturday. And now calculations are very simple: if Inter win two of the last three games, they will enter the Champions League. Most likely Inter are going to finish 4th again which would guarantee Champions League football but would amount to zero improvement. It would be more useful for Inter to finish third so that Spalletti can say that the team has made a step forward.”
According to the pink newspaper, Inter are expected to make over €350M in revenues, not far from Juventus in the pre-Ronaldo year in 2017-2018 (€411M). And so a second year in the Champions League would allow Inter to continue its growth and remain in line with UEFA FFP.
