Inter continue its pursuit to sign Steven Bergwijn. The PSV winger has been a target of the Nerazzurri for quite some time and he has been repeatedly scouted by the club of Suning. In fact, early contacts already took place with the 1997-born’s representatives.
Compared to Nicolas Pepe of Lille (French club wants €80M), the PSV forward should cost only less than half: both are technical and have similar attributes. This is why Bergwijn appears to be the favorite as top target to strengthen the wing position and Inter are pushing for it without waiting for July to come around, in order to anticipate the competition from England. According to rumors from the Netherlands, Inter are the most interested club in the player whose value is roughly €30M.
In the meantime, Bergwijn waits and knows that the two clubs are scheduled to make contact during the first ten days of May. On the table for him is a five-year contract around €1.8M per season plus any performance-related rewards. This proposal naturally entices the footballer. Will Inter’s offer do the same to PSV? We will have to wait and see…
