According to the Corriere dello Sport, Mauro Icardi’s intention is to stay in Italy this summer and so, the Argentinian will prioritize offers from Serie A particularly from Juventus and Napoli, two favorites to land the ex Inter captain in just a few months.
“Inter have decided not to comment on this matter any more and Wanda’s vacation in Dubai will allow management a few more days to prepare a contract offer. It will be a bigger contract but Marotta and Ausilio already know that it will not be accepted because Wanda is demanding €10M. Inter offer is expected to be around €6.5M plus bonuses and perhaps giving him the image rights. The clause here is not considered to be an important topic because what counts right now is Icardi’s desire to leave or to stay. At the moment, Wanda is not considering offer from abroad. Icardi is in the saddest and most disappointed state since putting on the Inter shirt for the first time going back a few days ago.”
CdS also reports that, given the situation, Inter could decide to keep him out of the action for an extended period: paying Icardi regularly but without using him. This was the measures that Jiangu Suning took in the case of Ramires.
