“The greatness of Milan Skriniar is clear, has been since his debut. Arriving from Sampdoria where he was used to another kind of pressure, but climbing the ladder at the Giuseppe Meazza is something else. He has proven to have the right maturity of a great player, growing immeasurably match after match.”
Riccardo Ferri wrote about the Slovakian defender in today’s edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport, showing no doubt about the quality that Skriniar has.
“In football, we often talk about strikers who complete the attack by themselves. Well, in this case, we are talking about a defender who does the same to the defensive phase of the game because anyone who plays alongside him always benefits by his presence. Skriniar makes everyone play well, makes life easy for his defensive teammates and this is a merit that few in the world have.
“I hear that his value is now 100 million and I cannot say if this is true or appropriate. But, I do have one consideration: Bonucci, when he was sold to Milan, was 30 years old, at the peak of his career and was valued at 40 million. Today, Skriniar is 23 and has huge room for improvement. He can have a career like Ramos and Thiago Silva, two icons in their position. And because of this reason, I hope that Inter can keep and turn him into a pillar of the team: a player like him cannot be found.”
