No record in terms of gate receipts in Serie A tomorrow night for Inter, despite the fact that there will be a sell-out crowd to welcome Juventus to the San Siro. We are a bit less than 24 hours until the Italian derby and it is expected that there will be 75 thousand fans at the stadium, 40 thousand of which are season ticket holders.
Inter will not set record but according to calculations made by C&F, the Nerazzurri will cash in more than the €5.3M earned in the game against Juventus last season. This data once again confirms the great support that Inter players enjoy throughout the season as the club is heading towards over one million fans that the San Siro this season (905 thousand in Serie A, 200 thousand in three Champions League home matches, 23 thousand against Lazio without Curva Nord). With three home games remaining (Juventus, Chievo, Empoli), Inter will exceed an average of 60 thousand fans per game home for the first tie since 2002-2003 season.
These numbers reward the strategy adopted by the club which aims at optimizing revenues in big matches (mainly the games against Milan and Juventus) and also in the Champions League while for the rest, Inter look to meet demand of the fans with a lot of offers and promotions.
In detail, according to Calcio e Finanza, Inter will collect more than €45M in stadium revenues this season from tickets, season tickets and hospitality: the highest in Inter’s history with an increase of about 40% compared to 2017-2018 season (€32M).
