Inter’s financial accounts are exactly in order. Finally. After years and years of suffering both in the books and on the pitch due to the inability to invest for talents, the club of Suning is finally out of UEFA Settlement Agreement that former Inter president Erick Thohir signed in May of 2015.
And the turning point? Suning.
Besides the injections of massive money, not relevant for the Financial Fair Play purposes but vital for the business continuity of Inter, the Colossus of Nanjing activated of series of commercial contracts in Asia, and will continue to do so, which have contributed to the huge surge in revenues: €297M in 2017-2018, €350M this season.
The work done in recent years by management (Antonello, Ausilio and Gardini) has also allowed Inter to gradually focus on the intermediate objectives of this settlement, between 2015 and 2018, leveraging capital gains, keeping wages and depreciation in control and combining everything with the return to the Champions League this season.
