“Houston, we have a problem.”

This must be in the thought of Mateo Kovacic and his representatives since the end of February when FIFA decided to block Chelsea from making any signings for the next two transfer windows.

This decision from FIFA has effectively blocked the redemption of the Croatian midfielder by Chelsea from Real Madrid for roughly around €29M. And so now the 1994-born will have to pack it up and return to Spain: a temporary move only considering that Zinedine Zidane does not have Kovacic in his technical plans.

According to FCIN, because of this reason, Kovacic’s team has already contacted Inter and Bayern Munich. But right now, bringing Kovacic back to Inter is not at the top of Suning’s list of priorities.
