“Last Monday, Giuseppe Marotta met with Antonio Conte and asked him to wait to sign with Roma. Inter CEO is still evaluating Zhang Jindong’s willingness to spend €80M needed to change coach. Spalletti is entitled to have €28M in wages (gross for two years left in contract), already taking into account his staff. Conte’s wage for three years with the current tax situation would cost €16M per season plus expenses for his representatives.”
This is the revelation made today by La Repubblica which then confirms that Inter have surpassed Roma in the race to sign Conte.
With this in mind, the Growth Decree plan of the Italian government (some sort of tax cut plan that I’m not familiar with) would be an important help for the Nerazzurri. Thanks to it, the tax rate would be 30% and Inter lawyers are working on this possibility. Another important factor is club revenues. This year, that number is sailing towards €400M mark and it has convinced Suning to make the coaching change.
