Following a post on his Instagram story, many people believe that Alberto Moreno could finally be leaving Anfield.

The post featured a picture of him stood with two barbers with the caption: “One more time thanks.”

Is Alberto Moreno’s time at Liverpool up? Five things to know…

  1. Alberto Moreno joined Liverpool for £12m after impressing in his two seasons in the Sevilla first team.
  2. Mostly known for his pace, Moreno showed this early in his Liverpool career with a pacey solo goal vs Tottenham.
  3. However, the introduction of Joe Gomez in 2015 gave him competition at left back.
  4. Last season, Andy Robertson then cemented himself as Liverpool’s first choice left back after Moreno picked up an injury.
  5. Moreno has recently been vocal about being treated unfairly by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Moreno has never really been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and that has been the case even more so in the last 18 months.

This can be seen even more clearly as the left-back has only made two Premier League appearances this season.

When speaking to Cadena Ser about the situation earlier in the season, Moreno said: “I do not feel good, that is the truth.

“I hurt myself giving everything for this team and I think that when I came back from injury, I deserved an opportunity.

“The situation is normal for a lot of players but simply, I did not like the way he (Klopp) treated me.

“Moving back to Spain is something I have thought about. I am in my fifth year here, there is no agreement on a renewal and in January I am free to listen to any offer.”

As it stands, no offers have been made for Moreno, however, this aforementioned Instagram post does hint that he’ll be leaving Liverpool soon:

How did the fans react?

Of course, this could just be Moreno going to get his hair cut as usual. But in the midst of a transfer window, fans will be looking for clues about incoming and outgoing transfers anywhere – especially on social media.

Moreno hasn’t been a fan favourite in his time at Anfield, so understandably, most Liverpool fans who saw this post weren’t too upset:

Since then, Moreno has continued to train and with Liverpool currently suffering an injury crisis in defence, there is every chance that he could get the first-team opportunity he has been waiting for.

Knowing this, some fans have looked to encourage him in what could be his last few weeks as a Liverpool player.

But with the 26-year-old seemingly adamant to leave the Reds, whether that’s this month or in the summer, his last trip to the barbershop will come soon.
