Yesterday, in addition to the return of Mauro Icardi, a lunch meeting took place between Inter management and coach Luciano Spalletti.
According to La Repubblica, “it was a good opportunity to meet and have a discussion with the coach after the meeting between Marotta, Steven Zhang and Zhang Jindong in Rome. The boss of Suning has asked to center the final part of the season around making the Champions League next season and Inter must do so with the highest possible position on the table.
“Making it to the tournament next year will be crucial for planning transfer market signings, starting with a new striker that could pair up with Dybala (if the exchange with Icardi and Juventus actually goes through). The most luxurious option seems to be Lukaku with his €10M per year salary. Dzeko and Zapata would be much more affordable. But with the Champions League safe in the pocket, Lukaku would become less unreachable.”
