Here are the words of Dejan Stankovic in the Match Day Program for Inter-PSV.

“The Champions League for me represented everything and I really mean everything. From the sacrifices made when I was a child to become a footballer to the final in Madrid. Only those who won it can truly understand me. Those who have not won it but have this trophy as an objective, please listen to my advice: push to the end, work a lot to try and win it. It is really worth it.

“There are many stories of 2010, it is really endless but the one stands out that I remember is that we were a group with many players who were over 30 years old. It was our last chance, we did not want to let it slip away. We had a coach like Jose Mourinho who motivated every day. At training, he always encouraged us to give more and more.”
