For the summer transfer window, Ausilio and Marotta continue to monitor everything and anything that is going on at Real Madrid. Florentino Perez’s team appears to be in full crisis mode: the season has been bad to the point that they had to change the coach but nothing seems to be on the up and up. We still have five more months until the end of the year and the players are becoming increasingly frustrated which could be the worst case scenario for the European champions.
As reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Luka Modric remains in the thought of Inter executives after becoming a great dream of last summer. The Golden Ball winner was stopped by Florentino Perez who did not give in to the desire of the player. Between the Nerazzurri and the Croatian’s representatives, channels of communication remain open and negotiation can start again at first opportunity.
Not only Modric, Toni Kroos could also arrive from Madrid (besides Godin of course). The German was recently added on the wish list of Inter although the Milanese club has reiterated that he is unreachable due to high transfer fee and wage. The feeling is that Modric is likely to return to Perez’s office to ask to leave at the end of the season and he won’t back down this time. This operation could be at no cost (Modric’s contract will have to be terminated) in exchange for high wage. Thus, there would be room for a second signing in the midfield. Inter would still have money to make a big investment. Kroos is evidently an ideal profile for the club of Suning but Real could try to ask for Icardi included in the deal.
