He has many trophies playing for Real Madrid but he has never became a pillar in their lineup. And so, that was why Mateo Kovacic was moved to Chelsea on a one-year loan but so far, his experience with Maurizio Sarri has seen more downs and ups.
As a result, the Croatian is looking around to find a new team already next season. Several inquiries have already by Kovacic’s representatives, “one of these was with Inter and it was positive,” according to the Corriere dello Sport.
This does not mean that Kovacic will wear the black and blue colors of Inter again next season. But at least in the coming weeks, talks will be a bit more advanced in trying to understand if economic and technical interest can be coincide. Obviously making next season’s Champions League will be fundamental given that Kovacic did not play in this competition this season.
Another decisive factor is also the terms of agreement: loan or outright purchase which should not be anything less than €30M.
