Edin Dzeko is Inter’s number one transfer target for the upcoming summer transfer window, considering a probable departure of Mauro Icardi.
According to Gazzetta.it, the Bosnian is loved by Inter CEO Marotta and sporting director Ausilio as both are moving in after knowing that he won’t renew contract with AS Roma, or at least the process has stalled at this point.
The player himself has hinted that he would like a possible transfer to play in Milan, also because his preference is to remain in Italy. As a result, the player has already said no to West Ham which is very interested in bringing him back to England.
It is important to point out that Suning would only give the go ahead to close this operation if it is a low-cost one due to the age of Dzeko (33). Negotiation between Inter and Roma could start already after the game on Saturday night, one that will have a tremendous impact on both clubs in terms of Champions League appearance for next season.
It is also logical to think that this operation is linked to the future of Mauro Icardi whose departure could only happen if there is actually a concrete and adequate offer, something that Inter have not seen.
