In the last transfer market window, Inter made contact with Dalian Yifang to sign Yannick Carrasco. This operation, according to Belgian source RTL Sport, did not go through because a piece of the puzzle did not fall in place which is normal in negotiations. The source reports that the reason was this: Christophe Henrotay, agent of Carrasco, was negotiating to do a major exchange with Inter which would see the Belgian wearing the Inter shirt while Ivan Perisic would go the other way to China.
The issue was Bernhard Schuster, coach of the Blue Hawks, who was ready to be replaced by Leonardo Jardim who, at that time, would be very willing to free up Yannick Carrasco so that he can return to Europe. But fate had different idea: Jardim, unable to find agreement with the Chinese club, decided to return to Monaco to save his former club, indirectly affecting the plans of parties involved.
