Ivan Perisic is re-assessing a new future in black and blue. And Inter are in agreement as well: if there is no adequate offer, the Croatian can stay in Milan.
This is confirmed by the Gazzetta dello Sport which explains how things around the winger have changed compared to the past.
“With Icardi and Lautaro stop scoring, it is Perisic that is pulling the team towards the Champions League: 4 goals in the last 7 games, including the one to cancel out Chievo last Monday. High performances, scoring against opposing goals: this was what Inter asked the winger to do at the end of the January transfer market. Then an agreement was reached with the club to return to the high levels to achieve team goals and then leave in the summer.
“This agreement still holds but English contenders are not coming for Perisic at the moment. West Ham option was opened for a brief moment but then went away immediately. Arsenal and Manchester United are no longer sending their signals while Tottenham interest is only ‘theoretical.’ Of course, we are still a few weeks away from summer window but there is enough to consider the hypothesis of him staying because he also has a contract until 2022.
“Inter will not put up walls around Perisic like they did two years ago when they rejected Mourinho’s offer but neither will they accept loan offers with option to buy (Arsenal’s proposal in January). It is likely that Icardi will leave the club, Spalletti surely will and so he remains and is going to get an important role in the new Inter in the 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 of Conte.”
