Inter are pushing on the accelerator for Nicolo Barella. The Cagliari and Italian national team midfielder is really appreciated by the Nerazzurri as the club is trying to reinforce its midfield with at least two first-class players this summer.
The strong feeling between Inter and Barella was born last summer and it has continued to grow over time. On his part, the player is ready to make a big jump in his career and Inter are ready to make his dream come true.
Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini is asking for €50M to sell his young star. Cash only, without any player included in negotiation. So far, no one is willing to pay that figure for Barella. In Italy, Napoli, Milan and Roma have asked for information but Barella’s appreciation and approval are for the club of Suning because two individuals in particular: his idol and friend in Radja Nainggolan and Alessandro Beltrami, agent of both him and the Belgian midfielder of Inter.
Furthermore, Nicolo and his better half (Federica) know the Como area very well where he lived his first year as a footballer in Serie B. And so in terms of his family, playing for Inter and living in Como would be the best solution.
Ok, so let’s go back to the question of how Inter can tackle that price tag of €50M. First of all, this is the demand of Giulini and so it is negotiable. Because at the moment, at most, the Nerazzurri would like to offer €30M plus a couple of players in exchange. And the options are plenty: Lorenzo Gavioli (2000), Colidio (2001) and especially Merola (2000).
The latter is managed by Enzo Raiola whose relationship with Cagliari is excellent as evidenced by the recent renewal of Pisacane and Deiola but especially the loan from Roma of fullback Luca Pellegrini.
In short, Inter have the right cards to play to satisfy the demand of Cagliari for Nicolo Barella.
