Javier Zanetti, vice president of Inter, gives an interview to Rai Italia talking about his PUPI foundation and much more.
“Being a champion in life is a commitment that I have been pursuing since 2001 with the PUPI foundation. We want to give the children a better future and unfortunately the situation in Argentina is not good, not only economically but also at a cultural level. Through education and sport, we want to give them an alternative. Italy is my home. I build my future and family here: three Italian children and I am proud of this.
“When I arrived in Italy, I immediately realized that this could be my home. I owe it to Inter which gave me this opportunity, especially the Moratti family who gave me so much love. Beyond what one can give on the field, I think that Moratti family had a great sensitivity for me as a person. I was a foreigner and that was very important. Italians and Argentinians share many similarities and it is important and because of it, I have always found myself well here.
“Wishes for Inter? That the club can be inspired to go after important objectives. This is what Inter must always be. We are building a team that can always be more competitive. Madrid? The Bernabeu reminds me that I realized a dream. Winning such an important trophy, something that had not happened for many years, it will always remain in our hearts. Seeing the happy fans will be an image that will stay with me forever.”
