In a long interview with the Corriere dello Sport, Radja Nainggolan talks about his Roma past, Inter present and future. Here are some highlights:

Rating of his season – “Ratings are for you guys to give. I had some injuries and certainly this year things could have been better. I was conditioned by preseason injury as well. It was not a minor issue as it happened in a delicate area on my left thigh. With a complete physical preparation, perhaps I would not have had injury after injury. Unfortunately, I have never been in top form even though I have always given my best to help my teammates. Compared to other seasons, I am less satisfied with my performances.”

Injuries – “I am 30. In my career, I was used to play 40-50 matches a season but here at Inter, I played 8-9 matches and then I had to stop. It has happened three times this season. So it is tough because I keep falling back to the hole that I just came out of. When you play in Europe, those matches often replaces training sessions and so I need to play to be at my best.”

Frosinone – “It will be an important match and I want to put some more minutes in my legs. Then the matches against Roma and Juventus will be decisive for Serie A table. Frosinone do a lot of running, have so much determination and there will be a crazy atmosphere. They have won two straight matches and will try for all three points tomorrow. This may be an advantage for us.”

Champions League – “There are 21 points up for grabs and several direct matches are still ahead. Teams that are fighting for the Champions League won’t win all the remaining matches. And so, given the advantage that we currently have, I think 5 wins out of the last 7 would be enough for us to reach our goal.”

Icardi – “In a team, everyone is important but no one is indispensable. Mauro is very good but we also have another great striker (Lautaro) who has always done well when he is on the pitch and is destined to be a top player in the future. If Icardi has issues with someone then it is up to him to solve it and not let it affect the rest of the team. It’s been talked about too much. Enough. He is training and is available just like all of us. If he continues like this and scores goals, he is an important player.”
