Lautaro Martinez is the favorite to start against Udinese over Mauro Icardi but watch out for a surprise and that is both players in the same lineup leading the Inter attack. This is a possibility, not a certainty.
Yesterday, Spalletti said that “they have found a way to stay on the pitch better than previous occasions” in reference to the possibility that the two Argentinians may play together. As if to say that Inter are more mature, able to withstand a tactical solution that in other times would have been considered too daring.
Starting both of them would mean pulling back Nainggolan to play next to Brozovic in the midfield as Vecino is out for this game. Against this same Udinese team, Mauro scored his last goal at the San Siro before experiencing difficulty in renewing contract and of course having the captain’s armband taken away.
INTER (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar, Asamoah; Gagliardini, Brozovic; Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic; Martinez.
