The future of Luciano Spalletti remains in the balance. In yesterday’s press conference, the Inter coach spoke about future projections of the club but according to the Gazzetta dello Sport nothing is yet decided regarding his position.
“Inter still have four matches to overcome and the coach, regardless of having a contract until 2021 at €4.5M signed last August, feels a bit more solid. Until a month and a half ago, his future seemed to be hanging on a thread. But now things are a bit different thanks to results obtained so far, a dressing room that was down but not completely out and management that is not completely determined to do a coaching change.
“In the meantime, it is mandatory to accomplish third place finish by locking it up already in Udine tonight. This is the accomplishment that, in Luciano Spalletti’s mind, would be enough to guarantee his stay in Milan. But in reality, even achieving third place does not completely rule out Inter having a new coach. Conte is the man that everyone wants and many already have packs of money ready to offer him. Inter are not letting their guard down on this front. Marotta won so much with him and contacts between the two are continuous. Inter CEO knows this situation perfectly. Working with Conte again at Inter would give a massive spark to the entire environment to challenge Juve’s domestic domination.”
