Before going to training camp with the Italian national team, Matteo Politano, one of the great protagonists in yesterday’s victory over Milan, discusses the game against the inner city rival.
“I am happy for the victory last night, an important derby that has pushed us towards the Champions League. Preparing for matches like the derby is always easier despite little rest. After the victory, we said to each other that this is what Inter must always be, always having this team spirit and hunger on the pitch. For third place, there are still many matches to be played.
“Icardi? It is normal for us to miss him. He is someone that has always been important for us. We now only have Lautaro up front and giving him a breather is important too. If he is well, I hope he returns soon.”
The last few words are dedicated to Luciano Spalletti.
“No player has ever questioned the coach. The dressing room chemistry was seen yesterday on the pitch: strong, compact and united.”
