The future of Luciano Spalletti and the possible change on the bench with a new coach are the main topics on the sport page of the Corriere della Sera. Luciano Spalletti recently renewed his contract until 2021 but the upcoming results will have a bigger weight than any contract. The coach is once again under pressure although for now, his position remains solid.

The most popular name is that of Antonio Conte, one that the Italian media repeatedly sees as the strong favorite for the Inter bench next season. Inter denied recent rumors of a contact and reiterated full confidence in Spalletti. But as aforementioned, the former Roma coach is under strong scrutiny and will be carefully evaluated going forward as Inter are in crisis mode. There are problems within the dressing room with some of the players who are unhappy and disgruntled.

Immediately after the defeat against Torino, there was a meeting between management and Spalletti, yesterday was just a second round to dig deeper into the issues. This moment is so delicate that the choice of Steven Zhang is to cancel his trip to China.

The Chinese ownership of Inter admires Conte greatly. The Corsera recalls that two years ago, “Jindong Zhang flew to London to meet him, trying to steal Conte away from Chelsea. Nothing was done but Suning boss was very impressed. Beppe Marotta cannot ignore the preference of his boss. Conte would like to stay in England, perhaps aiming for the Manchester United job but in case of a return to Italy, Inter would be the only club for Conte.”
